Mechanical QA/QC Engineer (Solar PV Project)

UET Construction is a construction company delivering infrastructure and energy projects, including renewable energy developments.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Quality Control:

• Perform inspections of piling/ramming works (verticality, depth, alignment, tolerances)
• Inspect mounting structure installation (torque tightening, alignment, positioning)
• Monitor solar module installation (mechanical fixing, leveling, alignment)
• Conduct stage-wise inspections in line with approved ITPs
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and method statements

RFI Management:

• Prepare and submit RFIs (Request for Inspection) to client/consultant
• Ensure RFIs are raised according to ITP hold and witness points
• Attach inspection checklists, drawings, and supporting documents
• Coordinate inspections with construction team and consultant
• Track RFI status and ensure timely closure
• Maintain proper RFI logs and records

Quality Documentation & Reporting:

• Prepare inspection reports, checklists, and daily quality records
• Support QA/QC Manager in NCRs, root cause analysis, and CAPA
• Maintain records for piling, structure, and module installation
• Assist in handover documentation and quality dossiers

Material Inspection:

• Conduct incoming material inspections (structures, bolts, fasteners, brackets)
• Verify compliance with approved submittals and specifications
• Ensure only approved materials are used on site

Coordination:

• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
• Monitor site quality and report non-conformities
• Participate in internal audits and inspections

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 3–6 years of QA/QC experience (solar or large construction projects preferred)
• Experience in piling/ramming, mounting structures, and module installation
• Strong knowledge of ITPs, RFIs, and inspection procedures
• Good communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ground-mounted solar PV projects
• Familiarity with EPC project environments
• Ability to work in fast-track project conditions
